About Me
Dr. Lillian Smith-Flakes
Dr. Lillian Smith-Flakes received her doctorate degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Florida A&M University in 2009. Since that time, she completed an ASHP accredited residency at the Orlando VA Medical Center in 2011 and received her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Service Administration from Keiser University in 2011 as well. She currently holds certifications in immunizing, consulting, and medication therapy management. In addition, Dr. Smith-Flakes received a Taylor Teaching Certificate from the University of Florida in 2012. Dr. Smith-Flakes actively participates in research and other scholarly endeavors resulting in numerous peer-reviewed publications and various grant funding.
In 2020, Dr. Smith-Flakes founded Embracing Destiny, LLC. with a value statement of “Becoming U!”, assisting clients in fulfilling their life goals by providing mentoring, career coaching, curriculum vitae, resume writing, research and scholarship endeavors, and grant writing assistance. In addition, she is the CEO of Upward Creativity Expression, a nonprofit founded in 1997 which addresses the social determinants in the areas of job training, job placement, health and education literacy, counseling, tutoring, childcare and much more.
